Did you know that hair contains much information about the status of your health? Through testing a small piece of hair, sensitivities to certain foods and products may be identified. Your results are not affected by hair dyes or colourings. The hair can be dyed, or if there is no hair, saliva also works.
At Elan Vital Health a hair analysis is available that uses a small hair sample to match your compatibility with over 500 foods and household items. It also allows for specific brands to help narrow down what should and shouldn’t be eaten. It is a non-intrusive test: there are no blood tests or scratch tests needed.

How does the Hair Analysis work?
The hair analysis involves taking a small piece of hair and placing it in a zip lock bag, filling in a questionnaire, and sending it to your practitioner. The hair is then sent to a laboratory and analysed. This is no ordinary screening. It goes much deeper, right down to cellular level. Eating or using foods and products that are incompatible to your body may cause inflammation. Inflammation then presents as symptoms, or dis-ease.
The report is returned to your practitioner that highlights items incompatible for you at cellular level. No more guessing! These items are then removed for six months, at which time a re-test is recommended to see if foods may be slowly reintroduced. Please note this is not an allergy test.

How much is the Hair Analysis?
The hair analysis varies depending on the type of analysis required. It includes a 16-page dietary advice report, which we will go through together to help you follow the wellness program for the next six months.
If the analysis is used for a baby, the list of tested items is expanded to include nappies, baby creams and lotions, baby food, and other baby products.
